Not at all. I am saying they should the city altogether period. Of course the city won't function. We all know the city would fall apart.
But if we all leave then our kids won't get the test prep manuals. Then again if we stay, and wait for the test prep manuals, then leave, would the test prep manuals still do us any good? Maybe this test prep manual is the new path to economic freedom.
Sounds like we'll start seeing lots of Asian and Jewish kids with free test prep materials.
They should really concentrate on making underprivileged "segregated" schools better than just looking for another failed attemp to statistically force equality. Give the families more freedom on where to send their kids to school. Entice them to go to schools in different neighborhoods than they are used to, and where they find distractions in.
The anti-charter nuts are trying their best to reduce non-Asian minority family options, not increase them. And DeBlasio, for all his avowed progessiveness is actually regressive on education, trying to limit choice and continually confusing union interests with student interests when the two are not coterminous and merely overlapping at best. Not even mentioning the huge $$ we have now found out pro-union interests paid his affiliated political group. Individual instances like this on the SHS exam, where there has been huge public pressure from non-Asian minority groups to do something, are not sufficient. The chronic, systemic failure of the bulk of the traditional NYC public schools to educate, and graduate, the poorest is ongoing.

Who lives in a place for test prep manuals? No one. Lol

I think all the teachers should quit teaching in NYC too. Everyone is an expert in what should be done in the classroom, so let all the experts come in to teach to see if they can do better.
The raise in test prep and Asian population growth in NYC. The days in which a black student could take the exam without studying and meet the cut off for admission are gone. The ironic part is the black community screams discrimination when it is poor Asian families who are taking up all the seats. More than half of the kids in the specialized elite high schools qualify for discounted lunches. At one point the DOE did a study in changing the admission standards to include students overall GPA + test score only to find out it would just end up increasing the amount of Asian students being admitted.
As if the people I named 'took the test without studying'! You really think that's the case, huh?
Is this outreach and free tutoring available to all? Or just Spanish and Black ppl?
I doubt any Spanish kids will be applying - perhaps a few. There's not many people from Spain living in the city - and most of those whose parents are on secondment (like those at Banco Santander) go to private schools.

Over the years, 'underprivileged, segregated' schools have gotten worse, and all, or most, means to get them better have failed!
I do support choice. With that said, Give children an atmosphere where they won't be chased home by peeps who don't want them in their neighborhood! Don't think that issue went out the 80s!
The free test prep 'in the hood' has a lot to do with access, than anything. Many other neighborhoods have it, while mostly poor neighborhoods don't! And OK, folk 'don't want to discriminate', and have test prep centers in all neighborhoods? Fine! And when those private test prep businesses in areas such as Flushing start lobbying the City Council to keep Public Test Prep out of those hoods, now what?

I wonder how many English people will apply.
Same ****!
