Hi, Im just now submitting my NYCHA application 4-11-11. I work full time and im also 3 months pregnant. How long does it take to hear something back about them receiving my application and how long is the wait time like.Im hoping to have an apartment by the time my unborn child is at least 2 years old.How long after you submitted an application did you recieve an interview. Also What priority were you if you were someone who got an apartment fast meaning 18 months or less.

When I applied I got an interview 2 months later. 1 month after the interview they gave me the list of developments and I was chosen 5 months later for an apartment. It was pretty quick. My priority was W1. I'm on the waiting list for my new application. It hasn't been a month yet.

I applied for Bushwick Houses.

W1 is for Applicants with gross family incomes from 51% to 80% of area median income.

Im not on welfare and dont plan on getting on the system, but i do need affordable housing. How long ago did you send your application in and did you mail it back or took it to a center. Sorry for the questions but i really would like to get into NYCHA cause it would help me out alot

I just came on here to tell you good luck living in Bushwick. Its tough, and crime over there is pretty bad(i aint gunna suger coat it). So just be street smart. The Bushwick Houses is huge from what i remember. few years ago back in high school i use to deal drugs over in bushwick. But like i said be street smart, and since your a young mother do your best to not walk around late at night, but if your a fellow NYer already then i just wasted my time.

It takes 90 days for them to receive the application. The entire interview and apartment selection took 8 months.

Oh ok, I hope I can get it fast like you I have decent income from my employment, however I think I fall under priority W2. Plus I'm pregnant, so I hope I don't have to wait forever, I hope the longest would be by the time the baby is 2 years old
