What a huge mistake IMO. I was happy when Trump initially indicated that Bharara would remain for this administration. He has been doing amazing work the past few years. He's not afraid of anybody and has had some amazing convictions, particularly Sheldon Silver and Dean Skelos, who seemed invincible and thought they were invincible. Write the president! Urge him to reconsider.

This is not good my friends. Nope, not at all.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Bharara might find the goods on Donald. Why would he want him around in an official capacity? But go ahead and write to see if that does any good.
This one is a shocker. Nevertheless, I'm sure that there are still many capable prosecutors waiting in the wings. One thing I don't like is the AG instruction to US attorneys to pivot towards the prosecution of violent crimes.

That is what made Preet Bharara so refreshing. He saw past politics and ideology. Keeping him on would have been a good faith measure that the Trump administration felt it had nothing to hide. Kicking him off just because he was an Obama appointee is just same old politics for someone who deserved better than same old politics, because Bharara brought down Democrats too.
Trump can't just fire someone at the Feds directly even as the President unless the person reports to him. This came from Jeff Sessions who is asking for those remaining AG appointed during the Obama administration to quit right now so he can appoint new ones.
So there's no firing yet but assumes he does not resign then they will slowly force you out through attrition.

Technically this is ANY incoming administration's right. And as I said earlier, since Bharara got both Skelos and Silverman locked up, I can't imagine Trump AND Sessions would want to keep someone in that position who could unearth the goods on them. No one should be shocked.
