Anyone hear anything about Bolt Bus and their supposed $1.50 fares between Washington DC and NYC and starting service in Boston soon?
They have a website Boltbus.com but I am worried this is a scam ..
Anyone know anything about them?

I just saw an article about this, in the NY Times perhaps? Definitely not a scam. But it sounded like there won't be many dollar fares available. If you buy tickets online, Greyhound is competitive with the Chinatown buses. I went down to Baltimore for 15 bucks last month.
The $1.50 thing is a promotional thing to get people interested since its a new line of buses. The prices will usually be a little higher (like more in the 20's and 30's price range). The whole thing was made up by Greyhound as a ultra-budget line to compete with the Chinatown buses.
It also seems that the PeterPan-Greyhound partnering is no longer. You used to be able to log in to Greyhound.com and see the full schedule of buses NY-DC and back. Now Greyhound has about four buses a day (although much of the slack is taken up by Bolt). PP offers a lot more departure times and, like Greyhound, is priced competitively with the Chinatown buses.
This company --> MegaBus was mentioned on the news tonight. I assume this is not the same as Bolt Bus? They're also offering some incredibly cheap intro fares .....
No. There's a little logo at the bottom of MegaBus' website saying it is associated with CoachUSA (the bus co., not the leathergoods business).
