It has *NOT* been that cold outside and you cannot hack going to the store?
We had one day or so of temps that barely got below 32F and some are acting as if that polar vortex is back. Aside from those instances we have not had a true hard core really cold for prolonged periods in the city for years.
Too many damn transplants... Have people covering their faces like it's below zero or something. These people don't know real cold. Have lived in cold areas and am here to tell you, the place is frozen until March or so. When living in Canada, then one knows real cold.

Yeah, people act as if they should be able to walk around NYC from November through March with no coat; just a hoodie and maybe a down vest.
None obviously have truly experienced a NYC winter where the Hawk was out for weeks on end.
Wait...I thought all the horrible transplants were from flyover cold weather states like Ohio, Iowa and Idaho. Now it seems the transplants are not from any cold weather states, but they are instead from Florida, Texas and California?
The take away seems to be that transplants can be blamed for anything and everything, no matter what.
I don't think there's much of a difference for me, but cooking-wise, I bake, soup, and roast more I think. This might translate a bit into fewer grocery visits since it's fewer fresh vegetables that don't keep very long, but I'm not sure. It's at least never been enough for me to notice.

As a native New Yorker, yes it is the wimpy transplants. Too bad they can't be shipped out. They're making this place as sterile and pretentious as hell.

Yes, but we can't all live here. Survival of the fittest.
