I recently found out that Credit Karma provides free tax return service. Is that really legit? Anyone use it before? I see taxact.com and h&r block, as well as some other software require some kind of payment to file with them because my income exceed more than the free filing requirement.

I used it last year, found it fairly easy (nothing complicated about my taxes) and yes it was free, I paid nothing.

I did my own taxes this year and realized that only morons use third party tax software to do them for them if they don't have complicated taxes. I wasted so much money every year for things that was so easy to do. daunting, indeed, but in the end,VERY easy.

I'm mailing mine this year instead of e-filing for the first time in years too. I'm including a starbucks giftcard for 10 bux with it. that might seem like bribery, but I bet if you open an envelope and get a gift it might make you happy! recycled gifts are amazing
