Would you happen to have the HR number? I seem to have the wrong one and I just get an operator.

A friend of mine signed up for the urban park ranger exam. Anyone here have any insight to that job?

Your "chart" is your scheduled day off during the week. So if you "make your chart", it means you'll be working your day off. It's double time for the day and double time if you make the truck. You are automatically a yes for your chart unless you tell your clerk you are a no the day before your chart. You can know the day before if your chart is canceled, or you might get a call in the morning on your chart day to come in if you want.

So if you make your chart on the truck, you're getting 4 times the pay? Dang, nice.

Also, thanks!

No, your pay rate is double as well as the differential you get for working on the truck is double

I know you are trying to be helpful, but remember this site is open to the public and anything you post is here forever. Most things should be kept to those on the job only. Not because of anything bad that we are doing, but mostly public perception.

3 years from now someone who hates sanitation or hates city workers in general can search and find this thread and use the "Working on your day off" thing against us. Next thing you know our Mayor takes it away from us during contract negotiations.

Far fetched? Sure. Possible? yes.

This is why FBF says to NOT post work related info online. There is a reason.

There are lots of people on this site and City that would love to take away our benefits and pay. Don't help them.

+1 to werdywerd, if you don’t understand certain job terminology, means you haven’t made it far enough to know. This isn’t a job manual, it’s a hiring thread.

If you didn’t know what charts mean, focus on pre-orientation.

Theres a guy on twitter posting city placard abuse, and he posted sanitation workers parking at the job legally, as if they are abusing their parking privilege, the hate is real!

This thread is on a need to know basis.
