They still do the warehouse parties in rundown areas of Brooklyn?
They grew up, and aren't hipsters anymore. Hipsters were a younger Gen X, older Millenial subculture of the late 90's, early 2000's with a utilitarian approach to life. It's over. Most have grown out of it, established careers, got married, had kids, etc.

Later, around 2006-2012, you had a breed of poseurs emerge, wearing Gucci skinny jeans & suspenders, tigereye glasses, hats and a nappy beard. Those aren't hipsters. What's left are basically kids basically wearing halloween costumes, lip rings, and pink hair renting warehouses with their trust funds.

Me, transplant? LOL. Been living in NYC and LI since the early 80's. You probably weren't even born when I was making my bones in this city. Good guess though

The west village wealthy gays are privileged and have it easy. It’s sad that they’d complain about poorer POC gays that frequent the Christopher st area on the weekends.

There’s also been a surfeit of semi-private rooftop parties in the big converted warehouse residences in East Williamsburg/Bushwick; it’s like the McKibben Lofts of the 00s had a virus and it spread to other warehouses. Not complaining though.

Maspeth? I always figured people stay where the subway is when it comes to this stuff. Don't get me wrong though, I've had fun in Douglaston, City Island, Bayside, College Point, etc. Maspeth never really stroke me as a place where people go haha.

Maspeth is fairly close to the Jefferson St L stop

And it's a short uber from Bushwick in general

Ridgewood--not so much Maspeth. Knockdown Center is an outlier that's just in the bounds of Maspeth, but nowhere near its center.
