They shut down the website for this development. Has anyone who applied to this development made any progress? I have my interview on tuesday. I hear residents who live in the area get some sort of preference, does anyone know if theres any truth to this?

Is that Penn West, Mitchell Lama? Or a new 80/20 probably by RELATED? Or is it a block of NYCHA housing?

I rember going often to the Hudson Guild Theater at 441 W. 26th and the entire block between 25th and 26th was Welfare Housing.

i'm unfamiliar with those except the NYCHA, which it is not. its an HDC mixed income program, if that helps. If you've been to the Hudson Guild, you might remember a parking lot next to the heywood building on 25th street and 9th ave. They used that lot to construct this new building.

Good luck at your interview. If you get in we'll be neighbors -- and you'll be close to highline park, art galleries and the local C,E train--its a really nice neighborhood. You'll also be next to Elliot Houses, which is a NYCHA development. So far I've had no problems, but there are roving groups of bored teens from that area that tend to wander around at night and get rowdy. Past 9th avenue all the way to the water used to be very vacant and sketchy but not now. Luxury high-rises are going up along with new restaurants and the like.

The building you are applying to seems to be coming along nicely--the units look great.

yes indeed it is! I actually live in the NYCHA houses and have been since I was a wee tadpole, and I see the difference in the area. All this time i've been living here I've only just gone to the highline park last week and its BEAUTIFUL at twilight! Thanks for the wishes, neighbor

I applied for this development also, just for the heck of it. However I did not receive a letter for an interview. Oh well.

We just received our letter for an interview. We do not live in the district but we are in the EV. It says we have to do an interview within 2 weeks. Anyone else do theirs yet? Any pointers?

No, it's not cheap at all. It's more of a middle income housing with some low units available. But for what the market demands for a 2 bedroom, this is a great price for what you get.
