Anyone been to this? I am "old" so the only acts I recognize are Lil Wayne, Florence+the Machine and maybe Vince Staples if he's related to Marla. Maybe a couple of others but not enough to punk down $115 for a day pass or $305 for the weekend. Not my cup of tea but passing along for those who might want to go .

I am quite old as well but have been to a few Governors Balls, both just for the day and for all three days. Doing all three days is a marathon for sure. It has skewed much more heavily towards rap and hiphop in recent years and the crowd gets younger and younger. I am giving it a pass completely this year. Taking a detour to Atlanta on my way home from my spring trip to see my dad in Florida this year and going to the Shaky Knees festival instead for my festival fix, lineup is much more up my alley.

Am "old" too - went to my first and only one a few years ago just to see Tool. It's just like every other festival in that there's a bunch of people 10+ years younger than you there. I've been to a number of festivals and this one wasn't really any different than others. It's on an island but doesn't really feel like it while you're in the festival anyway. The only way it does is if you're going to Manhattan and you walk across the RFK bridge (or walk from Manhattan to the island). They had a few art type of things but they were kind of trying too hard with it.
All in all, I'd only go if there's some artists you really want to see - it's not that unique of a festival.
