"Thomas Gilbert Jr., 34, was sentenced Friday for fatally shooting his father, Thomas Gilbert Sr., in the head at his parents’ Midtown Manhattan home on Jan. 4, 2015."
Mrs. Thomas Gilbert, Sr. was sobbing in court begging the judge for leniency because she "knew" her late husband would not want their son so harshly dealt with.

She was prolly part/root of the crime...but she didn’t realize that she would be the next victim if this beast only gets a slap on the hand for doing what he did...
She prolly raised him with forgiveness big or small, which led to him to keep pushing his psycho boundaries ...
Mr buggy, advice for you toady, for free, “beware and stay away from such wives...”
Wow, 30 years old and still getting an "allowance"? cut the damn birth cord already.
To be fair that is exactly what the deceased father did; and look what happened to him.
IIRC the mother and or family ponied up for the son's legal bills. Am also willing to bet he won't be disinherited if their is anything left when the mother passes.
"The spoiled hedge-fund scion accused of murdering his father for cutting his allowance by $200 might have thought twice if he had known his dad was only worth $585,555.50. "

Yeah, that was the kicker; sort of something out of an Alfred Hitchcock mystery.
Whatever illusions of wealth (name, homes, business reputation), the family was essentially busted. IIRC Mr. Gilbert Sr. had suffered some reversals in is professional fortunes which IIRC may have been reasons why he cut son's allowance in first place.
They should make a soap opera about Wall Street. A lot of back-stabbing, affairs, under the table dealings, hookers, cocaine, etc. It can be like a House of Cards a la Wall Street.
Here is another Wall Street story. This guy was actually rich though.
