Was this post some half-assed attempt at humor?
It's not even "dark humor", just lame.

There are no way to prevent viruses. They are living in every humans and animals and plants. The point is whether they have mutated and become hostile to humans or not.

The swine virus or the H5N1 virus originated from pigs in North America is a virus mutation adopted to human host. It killed roughly 300,000 people in US and infected 2 million people around the world during year 2009. The US government didn't do anything to control it.

This coronavirus or Wuhan virus is very mild. It is much more mild than even the flu we are having now. It only affects people age 75 years old or above with underlying conditions like diabetes, cancer. People under 75 years with the virus fight off and recovers in couple days with only a sore throat or slight fever.

The flu kill much more people in a month than this virus.

Except it did kill a 36 year old man. I don't want to give in to hysteria but I doubt it's like a light cold that you can just shake off & then be on your way.

And initially doctors/nurses were alarmed & wanted to issue a warning but was pressured to keep silent from the Chinese authorities causing it to spread that much more rapidly. So much for trying to "keep things quiet". Things like that make me mad. It's so irresponsible.

Opinion:
Agreed. The flu did kill more people in a month than did the Corona virus. Difference is their is a flu shot.
There is no Corona virus shot. 3rd world practices of farming need to adapt to modern times. Corona virus
is common to dogs, civets( cat family) and other wild animals. But that's not the worse of it. The ridiculous
practice of eating the flesh of another as close to living until it reaches the dinner plate is the cause behind
wide spread virusand cross contamination. In addition, boiling dogs, cats and other wild animals alive is torturous
and does not guarantee the wiping out of blood borne diseases. So keep catching and killing live animals. Keep
cleaving away at live animals while their fresh blood is sprayed and becomes airborne. After 40,50 or 60 million
people die maybe then behavior and humane preparation of food will change. Until then wear your masks and stick
to those ridiculous traditions....................

Oh, this is so sad...

https://www.scmp.com/news/china/soci...ities-outbreak

Whistle-blower Dr Li Wenliang confirmed dead of the disease at 34, after hours of chaotic messaging from hospital.

Li was one of the first doctors who tried to share information about the coronavirus only to be reprimanded by Wuhan police.
Wuhan Central Hospital initially denied reports he was dead, saying he was in “critical condition”, before finally confirming he had died.

Chinese officials should be held deeply accountable for this ongoing outbreak in China and the eminent threat to global public health for lying about and covering up the severity of this epidemic.

Its president should be caught and trialed for anti-humanitarian crimes given the escalating sufferings and loss of lives globally.

The US probably should secure its boarders both to the north and south to minimize the growing threat of an outbreak on the US land. Canada is acting foolishly by not realizing how serious this epidemic is and continuing to let people from infected lands come and go freely.

If you still take this virus lightheartedly to this day, you deserve to be sent to Wuhan for real life lessons and never allowed to comeback again!!!

No. The mortality rate of the corona virus is 2% and the flu is .01%. The corona virus RO value which is how many people a victim will infect is 2. The flu is 1.

Yes worldwide the flu kills more people. Right now the corona virus is not spread worldwide hence the number of deaths will be less.

While thankfully Corona is not currently as lethal as Ebola or other such virus, it is still something to be very concerned about.
