His family identified him as Yao Pan Ma, according to the NY Post. He was reportedly collecting cans for extra money on Friday evening on Third Avenue and East 125th Street when the NYPD says an attacker walked up from behind him and knocked him to the ground, then kicked him in the head multiple times. Emergency medical personnel took him to Harlem Hospital.

I think things are going to get ugly now. Asians got a lot of publicity about this already and protests yet this is still happening.
I think there is going to be some retaliation and that sort of thing can get racial and messy.
If some random black person gets attacked by Asians now it may escalate and create a cycle rather than reduce these incidents but these things are hard to predict.
Asian lives matter
"Black lives matter" is a good concept but is too limited and what's happening now is going to highlight that limitation.
If these incident keep going on it is going to have a big and complex impact on the politics if the mayoral election and a unique situation with the frontrunner being Asian himself.
The racial dynamics in this city are really tangled up right now and it's upsetting

Asian men need to start fighting back but they're too feminized
Many white men get beat up in this situation too, how does an elderly man fight anybody bigger and younger? The solution is to stiffen penalties and make it automatic felony without bail for these caught on camera criminals.
That will give these recent released felons out without bail something to think about. The whole idea of bail reform and anti-police policies is a ripe for all kinds of chaos and asian hate crime is just another symptom of bail reform woes
Keep these criminals locked up or make them think twice they will get picked up and kept locked up.
Yet another black supremacist hate crime against an Asian American This madness has to stop. The national media need to continue to be called on their racism for not sounding the alarm properly on this (just like they didn't sound the alarm on black supremacist hate crimes against Jewish Americans in the NYC area), when you know they would have if the attackers had been white supremacists.

Such an ignorant comment but I should expect nothing less from this member.
