FYI

Capacity limits and mask requirements are officially lifting today.

To both celebrate and explain what a "reopened" New York City looks like, we've tried to answer some common questions about capacity, curfews and masks.

Obviously the pandemic isn't over yet and there is no herd immunity. I feel that the withdrawing of some restrictions is more about economics than anything else.

Exactly. Until they stop the nonsense of 6 feet apart things won't be normal.
I'm pressed against people on the train, stand next to random people on the corner waiting to cross the street yet I have to sit 6 feet apart from someone at a bar

True herd immunity will never happen. Accept that.

what will happen is that there will be better medicines coming out that will treat anyone with severe covid as well as better/regular vaccinations as time goes on.

A group of epidemiologists (I'll look for the link) agree that by 2022-2023 covid will be just another cold that will be in our lives as long as we have vaccines/therapies available.

Just today I read of a new therapy currently with 99% efficacy in lab testing that kills Covid instantly. Pill form.

These are the things that we will have available in 12-24 months.

A lot of bars and clubs are requiring proof of vaccination so they don't have to adhere to that stupid rule.

Excelsior pass could work. But it has an expiration date which is annoying.

I was out to dinner in flatiron tonight, and it was very closely resembling "old times." Tons of people out, the restaurant was nearly full, and it's great to see people walking without masks outside (if vaxxed).

The subways too have been getting noticeably more crowded.
