How is the Sunnyside neighborhood? Is it ghetto like Washington heights and Bronx where people blast music. On the sidewalk?

Have you considered other areas of Queens? There are other areas obviously but if this area floats your boat the first thing you will like to hear is there are plenty of shopping and places to spend money on Queens Boulevard between 40th and 50th street. It’s all walking distance and if you like fast food and P.C. Richard & Son, you’re in luck.

People can play music in any neighborhood. We’re you asking about celebrating like holidays and parades? Or just playing music for the fun of it?

If you want more serenity, then go east towards Flushing and Nassau County.
Overall, Sunnyside is your typical Queens neighborhood. Homes close together, shopping on the boulevard, and city transportation at your fingertips. You should walk around to get a feel for it.

If you don't want loud music playing from cars in any neighborhood move out to LI or NJ. Just about anywhere in Bk and Qns you'll find cars passing by at any time playing annoying loud music.

It probably depends on what part the neighborhood. I too think you go there on a weekend to get a feel for the area you are considering.

I live in a VERY quiet area now (much quieter than I am used to) and we have roaming d-bags who play music from their cars with these gigantic speakers and drive throughout multiple neighborhoods. So, doesn't really matter where you are---they'll find you.

Thanks for the response all. I don't mind people driving by with loud music, but I do mind people people parking their cars and sitting in front of a building blasting music.

You most likely won't be dealing with that in Sunnyside. It's a decent area, definitely an improvement over the South Bronx or Wash Heights. IMO It's the second best neighborhood in NW Queens behind Astoria.

I like Sunnyside. I meet friend at the Lowery bar there from time to time. It’s a nice little neighborhood.
