Hey RaulDUke,
It is amazing but not surprising how many people are moving back to Staten Island. The Island has change at a rapid pace, looking at St. George, the Condos that are going up are beautiful and amazing, in addition, the Staten Island Ferry has been completely renovated with a new Aquarium that makes the place look like a art show and gives it a manhattan edge. Neighborhoods in the North Shore are experiencing an influx of new dwellers specially coming from NYC who enjoy paying less and getting more for their money. There are plenty proposed shopping centers throughout the area, I think you will be surprise and will like what you see what Staten Island has become, and it is not over yet, as an artist as well, there is galleries also popping throughout the area.
Moreover, there are going forward with the plan of transforming the Fresh Kills landfill into a Park that will make Central park look like a house garden.
Besides going to law school, I also work as real estate agent in Staten Island; so If you want I can email you some properties with more information, including the tax, property size, room sizes etc. Just to show you what is out there.
We can take it from there, and I REMIND YOU that this is no commitment for you to come with me, you can check out the properties and are at liberty to go with whoever you decide.
