Maybe a long time ago when it rolled out, LIC was an empty barren wasteland and no one thought to have it there.

Back in the 1950s and even earlier LIC was mostly factories, low-rise apartment buildings and some private homes. Not a barren area at all.

What did Northern Blvd looked like before all the car dealerships moved in. Were they there in the 50s?
