I wonder if he toilet trains them otherwise it would be a lot of kitty litter. Each cat would need their own as they are territorial which is the same for food. Dude is probably spending 200 to 500 on cats

Over 3 cats in an apartment is a recipe for stink stew. Ain't no amount t of febreze taking that order down...

But had to chuckle on his last day. First he walks around with a sling for the pity party, then take the kitty out for show and tell... so ,red baret, satin red jacket promoting him, a sling,a cat, and defiance of polling rules... wtf!!!!

His apartment must stink to high heaven. If Sliwa had won, he certainly would have gotten lost in Gracie Mansion.

My uncle had 12 cats and lived in a house and it was quite disgusting! When he passed away and we had the clean the house, the place was filthy and and reeked of cat feces. It was pretty bad.

If Sliwa has 17 cats and only lives in a small studio, I imagine how awful his living condition must be.

Cat hoarding is no joke and people who do so need psychological help! A few pets is fine, but when people have over 10, that's going overboard! Almost seems like someone is just hoarding pets as a way to combat loneliness.

Whatever DeBlasio does or doesn't do, all the mocking he received was deserved. He is a sorry piece of garbage and most of us will not miss him.
Sliwa rescues cats and??? Is there anything wrong or evil involved?

I love the comments on the pets.

As a Dog and Cat lover let me share some thoughts.

The cost to own a pet can be quite expensive but I would rather throw my money
into something that returns love than to something that only promotes more violence.

The cost to clean a home filled with pets is much cheaper than to clean a home of
a smoker , drug addict ,alcoholic, pot smoker ,a person with extremely poor hygiene
or simply lazy..... letting debris ,roaches and mice build up in the home.

Owning multiple pets is no different than having multiple children.
You pick up after them. You clean up after them. You train them.
Good pet parents produce behaved pets. Good parents produce behaved children.
Not all people should have pets. Not all people should have children.

The list goes on and on.
One entering my home few would know that I have pets.
Proper cleaning , proper training, proper food, proper medical
produce proper results prompting return visits ......even those with allergies.

Only a pet owner.... will ever understand the warmth a pet brings
on the coldest of days in this crazy turned upside down world.

Curtis and wife are sleeping well at night knowing they put up a good fight
to save the city. God Bless them both but I know they are already blessed.

I’m partial to what you say, generally speaking. We just got a dog last April and it certainly has brought a lot of good vibes to the family.

But 17 cats in an apartment setting is totally nuts. I mean, what if someone in the couple gets sick, and doesn’t feel like cleaning after them? How about going off on a trip and having to pay for caretakers, etc… Just the practical, rational stuff that comes with having that many pets has to be addressed.

I can’t imagine an apt not smelling with 17 cats, no matter how thorough the owners are. Like, it’s a full time job.
