Dude is turning out to be a clown. Of course, everything is left to be seen but his moves early indicate someone who's willing to hire incompetents at the expense of retaining as much control as possible. Never a good strategy.
Dude selected all women as deputy mayors. A woman police commissioner. Usually a sign that the male individual sees women as being more subservient than men and not challenging his power.

for the last 400 years in nyc, when all appointments have been male, no one protested en masse or called all of the appointees incompetents
for the last 400 years, when all appointments were white, no one protested en masse or called all of the appointees incompetents
now that people of color and women are being appointed to positions, all of a sudden, their "credentials" are questioned and accusations of incompetence are being flung at the wall like manure.
where were all of the questioning of credentials and competence when cabinets and appointees were mostly non-minority? hmmmm?
All of these Minority Appointments and a majority minority Police Department.... and if Police have any hint of misconduct it will still be because of White Supremacy

Wait, do you think no one complained about NYC governance on this forum before Adams was elected?
Paging SeventhFloor to verify this!
It's pretty hard to be disappointed when it's expected. Not saying this guy will necessarily do a worse job than all those before him, but I also don't expect him to do a particularly great job either and that's what NYC needs because this city's infrastructure needs some pretty significant overhauls. Maybe what NYC needs is some set baseline criteria of experience and demonstrated knowledge before giving someone a post that's within a specific field and/or opening up the position to qualified individuals from outside NYC, but good luck to any politicians that have the gónadas to try putting that in place.

It would be nice to have someone who has interest in infrastructure and actually travelled internationally to see and experience what it is supposed to be like.
