"Police chased the car until it hit a utility pole, at which point all five suspects inside bolted in different directions on foot, police said.
Clarkstown police and deputies from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department worked together and collared all five suspects within just minutes of the initial 911 call, according to police. 4 Handguns were recovered during the arrest.

There is nationwide shortage. Bullets are not cheap at all. Could easily be upwards of over a dollar per bullet, and this is if you buy legally. I'd imagine reselling on the black market is a lot more expensive. I'd imagine emptying a clip of an illegal gun can easily run you up like $50-100.
Quality ammo is hard to find ….it is in very short supply .
My wife and I dropped our range membership …it not only cost us 100 bucks in cheaper ammo in an hours time but replacing the ammo used was getting more and more difficult.
As non residents of Nassau county the Nassau county range was our alternative to membership at a nyc range and that was costing us 40 dollars on top of the 100 for the ammo for just an hour

All four were arraigned in Town of Clarkstown Justice Court, where they were remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $150,000.00 cash or $250,000.00 fully secured bond.
A fifth suspect, a juvenile, has also been charged and was arraigned in the Town of Haverstraw Justice Court.
