Will be coming back for a family visit. One of my goals is to purchase a really nice YANKEES jacket. Something like the 1961 version that Mitchell and Ness used to sell.

Back in the day all along 125th mainly West Side were all sorts of hip hop oriented clothing stores with cool swag. Do those still exist or would you recommend the 34th St Herald Sq area ?

Saturdays used to be a fun time on 125st. It was like a giant Bazar.

I know about the Yankees Clubhouse stores but they seem to have mass produced junk. Not what I am looking for. Plus I want to buy some books from the brothers selling incense.

I think there's still a Popeyes a few blocks from the Apollo Theater

Joking aside, there are still "unique" shops in the area. One place I always enjoyed going to was the Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Market, which specialized in African art, clothing, etc. https://www.harlemonestop.com/organi...-harlem-market Not quite 125th Street, but not very far away.

If by unique you mean cheap fast food chains, sketchy sneaker shops and third world level filthy streets, it's very unique.

Next to the Apollo were those " Sketchy Sneaker Shops " but they carried swag that you could only find on 125th. I used to go up to the Bronx around Fordam for the same. They had New Era lids that you couldn't find downtown anywhere.

Modells used to be my place too but they went out of business right ?

Nothing like that ?
