If I show symptoms with the cold or flu, then I’ll sure as hell show symptoms if I had Covid!
Nope, these are two totally different viruses with totally different biologics. You 100% can show symptoms of the flu and 100% be asymptomatic when it comes to covid.
I test myself 7-8 TIMES daily, and 9+ TIMESeach and every day during the holidays!
I took the first two at the beginning when symptoms started appearing and the next two when my cold was at its worse. And then took the PCR test at the end just to ensure the at-home test wasn't giving me false negatives.
I wouldn't have taken so many tests, but I have like 20 tests that are going to expire soon because good ol' Biden sent us so many for free.

You can't be sure with 9 tests, that's just ridiculous. If I'm going anywhere important I need a minimum of 20 negative tests before I even *think* about walking out that door

If you're that scared, lock down, or go out wearing a SCUBA (self-contained underwater breathing apparatus) tank.
After this thread has gone from page to page debating about masks, I'm going to go back to the OP's original question because I took two trips outside NYC over the weekend. I went out to Long Island on Saturday and then to New Jersey on Monday, since I was off that day for the holiday. I was very surprised that almost everyone was not wearing a mask in both those areas I went to. Occasionally, I may see one person wearing one, but very very rare. It's pretty amazing discovering how everyone outside NYC has moved on from Covid. It's only NYC where you still encounter quite a number of people wearing masks, both indoors and outdoors.
So given that it was too awkward to wear one when no one else was wearing one, I decided not to wear one during my trips. It felt good finally living life where Covid no longer exists.
Having said that, I will still wear a mask indoors here in NYC. I kinda shook off my fear when I went maskless over the weekend, but some NYC people still don't like it when people around them don't wear masks. So out of politeness, I will continue to wear one in indoor settings here in NYC. I'll shed the mask completely once everyone else in NYC lets go of their fear.
