Back in the day, we called that "lingering colds." A lot less threatening sounding than "long Covid."
"Lingering colds" would happen to me if I get a cold one after the other. That used to happen to me as a kid, but as an adult, I usually get sick only once a year. It could happen where I might get a second cold in the same year, but very rare. I think the 1,000+ colds I got as a kid must've built up my immunity and that's why I don't get sick as often as I used to.

Logically thinking about, how is it possible that a virus just stops mutating??
It can mutate to the point where people don't notice it enough to create a diagnosis. Trust me, in South Africa or China, there aren't lines of people getting tested "just because."
