but the question of:
How did the son NOT hear anything?

Did he have headphones on playing a video game or something, music, or in a dead sleep???

How do you be in a house and not hear? I can't for the life understand how in the same house, someone being brutally murdered, and not hear a thing? did anything break during a struggle?

or

Maybe the son did hear, and didn't care?

Wow:

As he was put in a police car on Thursday in front of journalists asking why he killed her, he screamed: 'F**k you motherf****r!'
For her to get entangled with this scumbg.

It occurred in the basement. He was asleep in his bedroom in the 2nd floor.

I would not jump to conclusions regarding the son. Could be a normal good kid.

You know as a teenager I slept through a rain storm soaking me and my sheets in bed. The bed was next to the window. Teenagers sleep heavily. Or he could have been watching TV. Maybe she was so scared and the first few stabs incapacitated her.

Either way, this entire thing is so embarrassing and a tragedy. They will have to move the younger son to another house and school. The entire incident must be so traumatizing for him

Also, we don’t know if he is giving his son an earful like blaming him for being there yet asleep during the whole four hours. He’s probably thinking or saying, “ You were there for the whole time and did not hear a peep?” And even though the father most likely will ask his son this question, what it will do is instill more guilt and blame on the poor son.
He could have been running around on her as well? We don't really know what their marriage was like. I feel horrible for him and the boys, to have this all be so public.

Maybe he was used to the noises downstairs.

Or maybe she was just into THE HELP! Reminds me of Arnold "The Terminator" who had a lovely wife in Maria but decided to impregnate the maid.
