But you have to pay for the sf where you grow it from your rent…which might turn out to be more expensive than $6/piece…

You might try cabbage (also very healthy). Regular iceberg is not nutrient dense enough to bother with.

However, I am in constant shock over grocery prices. So, I'm going to protest for a few months (and lose weight).
Healthy/healthier for what purpose and based on which evidence…???

A few months ago they sold 3 Taiwanese sausages for $5 in flushing. But now it’s $7.5 for 3. Food inflation is way higher than the general inflation rate.

The fruit stand I sometimes stop at used to have 25 cent bananas. Now they want 50 cents for one, or 3 for a dollar. 3 for a dollar is ok but the nice thing about that place used to be you could buy one only if that's what you needed. 50 cents is a little steep.

If you don't like it, leaf!

What's the price of romaine? It's a good substitute.

Nothing wrong with being frugal.

What surprises me is $6 for ICEBERG. I wouldn't buy it for $1.

I know what it is, but my point is I pay far less for something offers more nutritional value. Lettuce doesn't offer much by way of nutrients, not to mention that it's almost tasteless. Arugula is a much better option. When I make BLTs, I use arugula instead of lettuce and a nice wheat bread, thus BATs instead of BLTs. So much better that way.

I don't find the food prices as offensive as those that continue to vote Democratic............

The increases in food is due to snuffing out oil and gas production in favor of going green.

We can only Suffer for the next 2 years...........as prices will continue upwards.

The answer is in your Vote..............stop the madness.

P.S.

I am neither Democrat or Republican..............nuff said.
