I am going to Queens NY (from out of NY state) for something, the trip will be on a weekend.
Is it fine that I park my car in front of someone's house? Just parking for a few hours, daytime, weekend, no overnight. Just want to save a little parking fee.
Attached sample Google Street View: Street parking spot does not belong to the house owner, so can I just park in front of someone's house if I can find a spot? If I cannot find street parking spot, then I will go to a paid parking garage. Street parking is more convenient(just park nearby my destination), parking garage is somewhat walking distance away.
Yes. If the spot is on the street and the signs don't prohibit parking on the day you want to park, you can park there.
For the most part there shouldn't be parking restrictions on Sat/Sun but you still have to read the signs. There's one I passed by recently that prohibited parking on any day except Sunday (that's rare in residential neighborhoods though)

Thanks. Hope house owner does not do something bad to my car, if finding out I take "their" parking spot.
occasionaly you get some ******* who puts traffic cones in front of their house because they think they own the street parking, but its very rare. i heard it might be a thing in some areas of staten island maybe only after a big snowstorm and people try to claim their own shoveled spot with chairs or cones
It shouldnt be a problem but if you're worried about it and it will be on your mind while you're visiting, why not try Spot Hero? Usually some good deals to be found.
Queens has a lot of alternate side parking. Read the signs carefully. As for parking in front of someone's house and making the owner mad, that only happens in the suburbs. NYC residents don't usually have these expectations.
