I am never one for wasteful spending but this train ride is an exception.
One of my fondest memories as a child was a train ride similar to this post and
for me to recall this one pleasant experience from a lifetime ago far separated
from many other memories says something.
If I were available I would surely spend twice the amount for what I believe would be
a forever wonderful experience.
I think I'll go for it. I've done simple train rides to Cold Spring and back when I just didn't feel like going to work. It felt like cutting school. Adventure, scenic route.
Ticket is a bit pricey. But if you have taken that line, I’m assuming it goes up to beacon or even further. Beautiful views.
Could be great !!
Nice, but you can take a regular Amtrak train, the Maple Leaf from NYC to Albany along the Hudson, and it costs $36 one way or $72 roundtrip. And you can continue on it past Albany through the Finger Lakes area to Toronto.
Is the car attached to a regular Amtrak train? Seems there is a cheaper $149 option for lounge seating.. One annoying thing about Amtrak and Metro North is the windows are often dirty. If this has clean windows it might make for some nice views.
