On the Bay Ridge Talk Facebook page people were complaining that the MTA should run a shuttle bus along Shore Road to get people to the ferry!
One woman said she takes the 6am express bus and is at her Wall Street desk by 6:30am.
Having lived on Shore Road for many years, I would say unless there's a major traffic backup on the Gowanus HOV lanes that the express bus is faster, and I lived walking distance to the ferry dock. Ferry (which left from Brooklyn Army Terminal then, and I did hop a shuttle bus to there) was a lifesaver getting to Manhattan after Sandy and a pleasant ride, but not the fastest and unless you work right by the pier it's a bit of a hike to anything.

In other words, a vanity accomplishment for Bay Ridge politicians to brag about.
You clowns don’t understand the game being played. This will dramatically increase property values for anyone within a 10 min walk of the ferry. Higher property values equals higher property and transaction taxes.
There are condos in that area going for nearly 1,000sq/ft.

What effect do you think the proposed rail link to Queens through Central Brooklyn will have on that?

Zero because it won’t be completed, even if there’s political will, in the next 50 years. This ferry route was very low hanging fruit.
