The US is more complicated than you think. There are many Republicans in the NYC area. Whether they support Trump or not, I have no idea. To the east of NYC, you have Long Island which is historically and currently Republican. Then there are blue islands in the south, such as Atlanta and Nashville. And of course, Trump, himself, is/was a New Yorker.
