No. 2 slot overall was Una Pizza Napoletana. Earlier this year, 50 Top Pizzas named Una Pizza Napoletana the No. 1 pizzeria in America.

"Landing at the 22nd overall spot was Ribalta on East 12th Street near Union Square, followed by No. 33 Song’ E Napule on West Houston Street in the West Village and No. 72 Kesté on Fulton Street, very close to the Staten Island Ferry’s Whitehall Terminal. Rounding out the USA contingent was Ops on Himrod Street, the only Brooklyn selection, at No. 92."

No love for Brooklyn or Staten Island....

Top spot worldwide went to Michele Pascarella, the founder of London’s Napoli on the Road.

I’m starting to think most of these articles are more fake than congress.

A lot of places I've never heard of on the list. A lot of staples and classics, no on the list.

I think it's all marketing money pushing these.

For instance, apparently "Prince Street" pizza has become a popular brand. I think it opened in 2012. I have nothing against new institutions, but it's interesting as I heard about it being good from tourists, and it seems to be popular with people who aren't from NYC or the NYC metro. Many of them claim it's the best pizza in NYC, yet no one I know from the area like it, and many of them have never even heard of it.

These places pay to get on these lists.

The best pizza I've had in a long time came from a late night spot in Brooklyn called Smiley's Pizza.

Suspect name, and risky choice, but sometimes it's like that.

Pizza was delicious--perfect crust, flavorful cheese, good sauce and cooked just right.

A lot of pizza I've had in Brooklyn tastes dough-y. Manhattan cheaper slices usually are in the grouping of 'the best.'

Personally, I don’t understand. I don’t like NY style pizza. Good ingredients and all I understand, I just don’t like floppy pizza and I’m just not on board with NY pizza being on the leaderboard. Although I’ll admit it’s hard to tell beyond clickbait what kinda pizza they’re grading. If it’s real Neapolitan style pizza I’d be on board, it’s got a bit more substance.
