Hey everyone, im looking to spend the weekend in manhattan this summer. I travel there a lot but never stay at hotels. Are there any decent hotels in midtown area for $100-$150 a night? I cant seem to find any online

Somehow, I really doubt it. But do let everyone know if you find anything that looks habitable and isn't a hostel.

Was through there in April, and likewise could find no reasonable hotels. Bottom line seems to be 200, but even those were hard to find. Prices have spiked up lately what with a hotel shortage still....

Believe it or not I find cheaper hotel rates when I bundle them with airline tickets. You might be able to find a cheaper rate with airfare + hotel even if you're driving. Crazy, I know. I flew up to the city to buy a car a couple of years ago and it was cheaper for me to purchase a round trip airfare bundled with a hotel for the weekend than it would have been for a one way airfare and the hotel. I had a room at the Millennium - U.N. for only like $125 a night and I had a huge room with a kitchen and a gorgeous view.

There are a lot more vacancies in July and August than in high-tourist June. You should try Priceline or Hotwire. The 4th is one of the best weekends to get a good deal.

go to one of the internet forums that deal with getting hotels through priceline and hotwire. Through those forums you will know what you can get in your price range. Great deals out there you just have to know how to find them. PM me and I'll give you one of the forums I use for this purpose.

Nope..get a package deal..orrr...rent someone's apartment. Look on craigslist.org. That's as cheap as it gets. In the off-season a decent hotel in QUeens is $140 a night...so if you can find something like that in Manhattan during summer..I would take it.
