what you do when you dont know where you want to live? (Long Beach: best city)

I ve been rading this forum for the past 2 years

I'm a single NYC resident since 2004 in his 30thies and I have been thinking if I am happy here in nyc

I am a urban person, and I cannot live in a small town

But at the same time
I lilke spaces, beaches, job oportunities, funny people and the chance to achieve financial freedom so I can travel more, that is my real passion

My head one day is in South florida, one day here in Queens one day in San Diego

I'm really confused

What criteria do you use when selecting the city you live ?
if you have to priorytize the financial freedom aspect (like working, saving and invest in properties) what city would you select?

All that really depends on the person, not the city. If you cant make it here, you cant make it anywhere

Move to Long Beach NY, you get florida california and NY all in one. You cant have the warm weather all year but no place is perfect.

People who dont make it in NY can make it elsewhere

I think it depends more on what you really want than any prioritizing. Go for what's in your heart, not your bank statement.

it's all a matter of what YOU want, your finances, job opportunities, etc. We don't have enough info to guide you, but personally I'm working on two of the three places you mentioned and will be a nomad going back and forth - Queens and South Florida.

All I can say is visit these places as much as possible for as long as possible and do lots of research...cause visting a place and living there are two different things. Ppl say that "if you can make it "here" you can make it anywhere" but that is soooooo not the truth. Every city is different and its always an adjustment moving somewhere and not always it for the good. YOu cant compare cities they are all different, different ppl and ways of life. its all about what city best fits your needs. Research, research, research, research!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Lots of ppl left NY for Atlanta and some think its the best city since Ny but to me its country and not really a city at all....just an over grown town. And while housing maybe cheaper Id rather be in NY and hope to be able to come back one of these days.
