I love the big apple, and having easy access to it daily would be a dream come true. Are there any affordable places to live within an hour of the city? I don't care what state it is. Affordable is $250k-$350k, and we need 4+ bedrooms (or 3 bedrooms with an office area) and 2+ bathrooms.
Wow placid...you really are going way too far out for what you seek. The most recent sale in my neighborhood was a fully renovated 3 story single family home, 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, huge yard, full basement (unfinished) with a parking spot in a landmarked home for $350,000. It is in Longwood (South Bronx area), within a very short commute to Manhattan via the 2/5/6 trains....and was purchased by a white lesbian couple...why travel 1 hour out???????
