I know this has been mentioned over and over but, me and my boyfriend are considering moving to nyc. I know that you have to have some certain income requirements to live in some places in the city. I have two questions, 1- For these requirements, does just one person have to make 50 to 60 times the rent or can both people ( me and my boyfriend) make 50 to 60 times the rent. I hope that makes sense
2. Since we would be moving together, would we be able to both live off of both earning 100,000 a year total?
I know these kinds of questions have been asked but I am just wondering cause I haven't seen many in terms of couples.
As long as one of you has the money, you'll be fine. I can tell you because my wife makes over 100,000 and I make next to nothing and we have never had any problems renting. Landlords have always been pleased.
City-wise, you'll be able to have a good life in New York with that income.
