Here is a crime map for the 50th precinct:

Wow, practically all the violent crime occurs in one area, Kingsbridge Heights.

I think it has more to do with poverty.

Not so sure about that,Supermario.
There is and has always been a lot of poverty in the world that is not accompanied by violent crime.

But if you look at poverty rates for the 50th precinct, Kingsbridge Heights is upwards of 20%. The rest of the precinct are poverty free.

The adjacent 52nd precint is a high crime precinct. What makes it high crime? Starts with poverty rates at around 40%.

It's not always the case but usually the poorest neighborhoods in the city are among the worst, crime wise.

I live in this precint's vicinity and thus far have not suffered any crime upon my person...even when coming home at 4am back in the heyday...

I'm just a little curious...what was the reason for this "map of crime" post in this specific area?

It might be helpful for others if you also added the other areas of the Bronx, while you're at it maybe even Manhattan and Queens and LI so as to make sure we know where we can walk and live without fearing for our lives?

I posted the 52nd precinct crime map already. Those are the only two available.

Sorry. Continue fearing for your life.
