Nobody can give you a concrete answer. Each position is at the mercy of the hiring needs of the MTA. The frequency for hiring between train operator and stock worker will be different from each other. Don't expect anything from them for at least a year.
I know my military background won't give me a salary boost but it did give me the 5 points i needed to reach 100 and Im hoping with that number I'll get called within a year from now when I have finished school. I know my weekends will be booked with work, MotormanMike explained it to me but I also have military duties and they have to accomodate that, no one can say no, I'm a sailor before anything else.

I never heard of somebody getting disqualified from transit for having a bad credit history. I wouldn't worry about it.
