I have a meeting in Great Neck in a few weeks and need some advice about the best way to get there. I live in New Haven and don't own a car. If I get a Zip Car or rent a vehicle for the day, I suppose I can just drive. If I do drive, how many tolls are there and how much will I pay?
If I choose not to drive, I assume my options are Amtrak or Metro North to Manhattan and then LIRR to Great Neck. Is this correct?
The trains to Great Neck on the LIRR are frequent and fast. You'll get there in about a half hour. You'll pay a lot more for a ticket if you go during rush hour. One more thing, be sure you buy your ticket before boarding the train. You'll pay a $5.00 penalty if you don't have a ticket.
