There is plenty of it on a small scale, which this is. Alex Bay is a quaint place in the Thousand Islands and it doesn’t take much to make a difference.

I don't know who this person is, but I wouldn't say it's small scale to him. Purchasing 4 properties in a small, seasonal town, he most likely is putting everything on the line.

I’m not undermining the efforts of the person/couple. I agree. My point is that development occurs at different scales and this is different from large scale developments that are going to use some form of “infusion of money” from elsewhere. Plus, he is a native and has more invested into the community than just the buildings.
