On Christmas Day I will be driving through the area. Does anyone know of any coffee shop, truck stop, ANYTHING that will be open? I am looking to stop somewhere in the Monticello/Liberty area for the usual bathroom/caffeine/gas station quick break but am concerned about the sidewalks being rolled up. Google hasn't helped me out, so does anyone know of anywhere, be it a Dunkin Donuts or a Pilot-type truck stop?

I will be traveling up Rt. 17 W from Middletown and exiting in Roscoe. Ideally I can find somewhere around Monticello, as that is half way-ish for me. Thanks!

Once you leave Middletown, it becomes desolate - fast. You could try Quickway Diner in Bloomingburg. If not, try Liberty, NY. Something is bound to be open off that exit. Other than that...pretty much nothing. No truck stops.

That was my fear, Dreamshot. Having done this drive many times, I know there isn't a whole lot going on in that area. I have a usual Dunkin Donuts I stop at, so maybe I'll call and find out if they are open. I am sure gas stations will be open right off the highway, so I will just keep my fingers crossed that they have reasonably clean bathrooms.

WalMart is closed Christmas day. I also wouldn't count on a lot of gas stations being open. Many small ones aren't. I would definitely call the Dunkin Donuts the OP stops at. I know Roscoe a bit. Husband's family goes all the way back to the Holland Patent there. It's exactly bustling during the year and on holidays it's like a ghost town!

GAHHHH...any City Data peeps in the area want to open their house up to me so I can use their bathroom and grab a cup of coffee?

I called the Dunkin Donuts in Monticello and Liberty...closed Christmas Day. Hmmmm. In all seriousness, I shouldn't need gas, can do without coffee, but I will absolutely need to find a bathroom. This could get ugly.

99% of things are closed on Christmas Day, even nationwide.

Only thing that may be open (limited hours) are Pharmacies, such as CVS and Walgreen.

Stewart's!!!! Just saw on Facebook their holiday hours.

They're open Christmas day 7 am - 8 pm. Check their website and see if there's one on your route. Here's hoping! They have coffee and bathrooms. Some have gas as well.

Stewart's Shops - An employee and family-owned convenience store chain based in Saratoga Springs, NY known for milk, ice cream, coffee, food to go, gasoline, and more.
