I assume you have children if you are concerned about the schools. Pearl River is an awesome place to look. It's super family friendly, very safe and there is a Metro North station right in town. You take MN to Hoboken and take the Path across the river. Not a terrible commute, you'll find many in town doing the same thing. Pearl River schools are awesome, too.

Hi nmogilvie,
I read your post about relocating up to Rockland County.
My name is Rich. Depending upon your price range and lifestyle, it varies as to
what villages and towns might suit your interests best. The
Nyacks are situated along the Hudson River and have nice river
parks and boating marinas that might interest you. Many of the
towns in Rockland are diverse in demographics and lifestyles.
My brother lives and works in Nyack and Grand View on the
Hudson. My aunt lives in the Orangeburg / Tappan area which is
convenient to major highways and transportation to NYC.
Best Wishes,
Rich
