I-90 is always "The Thruway". Buffalo wings annihilate all those other snacks. And I put the Finger Lakes above the Adirondacks, though its close I like both. Soda is soda, not pop. Pop is cute, it sounds like 1950's Wisconsin.
Don't know why I ended up with the Capitol Region, except that I dread shoveling snow way more than all the others (I actually like mowing the lawn). That probably ruled out central and western NY.

Definitely the snow answer. For Upstaters, the folks in Albany are always clueless about snow: how to clear it and how to drive in it. I swear, I drove from Fredericksburg, VA to Winchester, VA in a snowstorm one time, and the Virginians drove better than the idiots in/around Albany. I've heard the tv weather people refer to 2 inches of snow as "storm". They closed schools for more than that. When snow was predicted, half the office didn't show up, and when it actually started falling, at least half of those who did show up bolted out the door. I actually saw the dumbass road crew spreading salt before they plowed the street in front of my house (the salt truck did not have a plow mounted)!!!
Since 6 inches of snow in 24 hours constitutes a snow emergency in the Cap District, I gotta think there'd be mass suicide if they ever got a foot overnight, which is what I've had on occasion here -- or the 7 feet my brother in Hamburg got over 3 days last November!
