So why didn't you change your voter registration?

I don't like the idea of being forced to identify as a Democrat or a Republican.

OK. We pretty much get the idea of who. What is the why?

My neighbor's dog would get my vote if he ran against Trump. I do not want that crazy man near the US nuclear codes.

Clinton = Status Quo/no change/stagnation

Trump = Possible war resulting in home soil deaths.

Sanders = May be a bit of a social justice warrior but hell, at least he represents possible change for the better and is the most genuine guy in politics for decades.

The NY State primary rules will cost Bernie a lot of votes from all the voters like CookieSkoon.

Sure, but other than identity, it means you never get to vote in a primary of either major party. Then again, usually by the time the primary comes to New York it doesn't really matter.

Why should people who don't belong to a political party get to pick the person that represents that party?

That's a valid point.

However, being able to vote in primaries as unregistered is also a valid idea.

That's the problem; both are valid schools of thought.

I am personally on the side of free voting because I feel like anybody should have a say. Even if we don't glue ourselves to a party we are still confronted with all the news and options, but we're forcibly muted. I'm not terribly fond of the party based system anyhow.

Two of Donald Trump's children felt the same way... they can't vote in the Republican primary for their dad:

nor anyone registered under the Conservative or Working Families Party
