You would think that there would have been one by now, especially when there was a Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown metro area until 2013 or so. It was a top 100 metro in terms of population before it became a part of the NYC metro area.
The 'Westchester' forum should be expanded to include Rockland and Putnam and called 'Lower Hudson'.
Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster should be combined under the forum heading, 'Middle Hudson'.
Of course this is all just a mental exercise. This topic has been brought up a dozen times and the idea always dies. Some states, like NC have a sub-forum for every population cluster. Florida has one for practically every city over 100,000 pop. But upstate NY is lumped together with areas from 35 minutes outside the city to Plattsburgh to Buffalo all under one big sub-forum.

Just dropping by to say hello from Columbia County. I thought I was in the Hudson Valley too.

I mean no disrespect with this - but you're one of the reasons I would like a Hudson Valley forum. You 're a 'very, very prolific' poster and many people really like your posts but they do tend to monopolize the general NY forum. I'd like to be able to go to a section with posts of interests to where I live without bringing Plattsburgh and Buffalo in to it.
It's like visiting the NYC forum and 80% of the threads are for low income housing lotteries.

They can't seem to understand the process/procedures of applying for low income housing but they have the social media postings down pat...
I think it's definitely needed bc more people are moving up here and can't find enough information. I google certain towns and 1/2 the results are CD posts from 2010!
I'd especially like a picture thread.

To be fair, 75% of the time, 100+ people will read a post and this is the only person who tries to help. Maybe if others would engage more, they won't seem like they are "monopolizing".
