Rockland should be in with Westchester. Used to be Orange, Dutchess, Sullivan, Ulster and Columbia were considered the beginning of Upstate-that changed when everyone and their brother started moving in here from the lower counties.
Agree. CD would do well to start a Hudson Valley forum. It would help with the spill-over from both the downstate threads and the few from the capital district. Especially for out-of-staters researching NY threads, it would narrow down the field & help a lot of us answer more relo questions.
Exactly..the hudson valley is the area that is technically not considered NYC, westchester but is also not albany. But the hudson valley is the area RIGHT IN BETWEEN..and there is no section for it.
People also dont know where rockland county fits in. Because its not westchester, but I guess it could be considered a cousin of the hudson valley.
If you ask me there should be two more forums:
1. Hudson Valley (dutchess, putnam, orange, ulster, sullivan, catskills, columbia)--pretty much everything from NYC to Albany on both sides of the hudson river.
2. Rockland county..because its just like westchester...a whole entire different county, not part of hte hudson valley region and not part of the boroughs..just single entity all by itself.
