I am in my early 20's and I am living in Bergen county at the moment with several roommates sharing a house.
I was thinking about moving up to one of these towns because I prefer a more rural, private environment and I also want to be able to own a big house without paying through my nose to do so. Plus it is still fairly close to my job (about a half hour commute).
I was just wondering whether there is anything going on up there? I like going out to bars and restaurants, I would like to join a baseball/basketball adult league if there is one, etc
What do you think?

My fellow NJian, a very old post but wanted to know what your decision was? I am really trying to get some activity going on Warwick as my wife and i are facing a decision to move there which is very difficult.
I can tell you that as far as restaurants go, there are a ton of great places in all of the towns you mentioned, especially Italian restaurants, and in surrounding areas as well.
Nightlife can be something of a mixed bag, it depends what you're looking for. If you're into the always loud and crowded type bars, there are a few (Halligan's in Warwick and Captain's Table in Monroe come to mind), but generally speaking, if my friends and I feel like going to that type of place we generally head to Nyack/Rockland or, ironically, North Jersey. If you're more the quiet, hole-in-the-wall type, then there are plenty of those places to go around. Some local places get randomly crowded, and sometimes they are dead. It's a bit of a crapshoot.
I can't really speak to the adult baseball/basketball leagues, I'm sure they exist but I don't know much about it. It's a great area for hiking, mountain biking or skiing/snowboarding if that is any consolation.
