When looking at areas with at least a notable Black population(a few), good/high academic performance and relatively Black median household income, these school districts appear to be the best bets: Rush Henrietta Central School District

Amherst Central Schools

Jamesville Dewitt School District

Cleveland Hill Schools

North Syracuse Central School District

Academics | North Colonie Central School District, Latham, NY

Spencerport Central Schools

Vestal Central School District Home

Guilderland Central School District - Guilderland, NY

Williamsville Central School District

There are others that could fit or come close.

Another sports reference: Section V Boys' Basketball 2015-2016

Teams like Aquinas, Batavia, Bishop Kearney, Brockport, Brighton, Churchville-Chili, Clyde-Savannah, Dansville, Eastridge, East Rochester, Fairport, Gates-Chili, the Greece high schools, Rush-Henrietta, Irondequoit, Geneva, Lyons, Harley-Allendale Columbia, McQuaid Jesuit, Northstar Christian, Oakfield-Alabama, Newark, Palmyra-Macedon, Penfield, Spencerport, Waterloo, the Webster high schools, the Pittsford high schools and a few others are private, suburban, small city and small town schools outside of the city of Rochester that you'll notice to some degree. C.G. Finney, Sodus and Wheatland-Chili are others without pictures that come to mind.

Just as an update, if the new 2010-2014 census info from the previously used source is correct, the census block in the SE portion of the Salt Springs neighborhood near Le Moyne College is the predominately Black census block group with the highest median household income in Upstate NY at just under $64,000. Next is a census block group in the southern end of the Delaware Ave area of Albany at a little over $62,000. Both are above State and National figures. In the case of the Syracuse neighborhood, it is above the metro figure and the Albany neighborhood is at/around the metro figure. Correction, the Albany neighborhood is pluralistically Black. If including such neighborhoods, a census block group in the SW portion of the Cleveland Hill community has a median household income of a little over $67,000(10-14 info) and is 47.6% Black(2010 info), which would be the highest figure for a pluralistically more/predominately Black neighborhood in Upstate NY.

During the 2008-2012 info used before the update, a portion of the Kensington Heights neighborhood next to the Cleveland Hill area of Cheektowaga had the highest median household income at around $66,000. It is still above the national figure at a little over $54,000 according to the 2010-2014 info.

Just to add to this, but you may have an adjustment in median household income either way. For instance, a census block group that straddles Main Street/around St. Mary's School for the Deaf just NE of the Scajaquada Expressway and adjacent to the Parkside neighborhood is 49.2% Black and has a 10-14 median household income of $58,859, which I believe is an increase.

This church is in a rural/small town community SW of Rochester in the town of Wheatland on the Monroe/Livingston county line: Second Baptist of Mumford

It has been there since 1891.

Here are the nearby school districts families that started and/or attend the church may come from: Wheatland-Chili Central School District
