It seems that most people are actually very opinionated and, even when their view is challenged with good evidence (of course it can be all subjective), it seems the majority of people seem to already have their minds made up and are not likely to judge.

For instance, taking constructive criticism or something...maybe they do change, or at least think about it...how many people do you think really think about it? And how many people are open to changing their mind if there's good reason to, or is it human nature to bury their heads in the sand?

I'm like this too, sometimes, of course, I think we all are. I think a lot of the time we are sick of tired of people trying to lecture and impose their views on us so it comes sort of naturally. But we are also pretty resistant to change.

People are disturbingly stubborn.

I think one of my best traits is I'm able to take constructive criticism and run with it. Most people see it as weakness.

Yes, this is all true. The hard part is to notice this tendency in yourself and not just in other people.

Yes. I guess there are those who like to educate others. Then there are those who like to learn about each other.

Usually people are interested in shoving their views onto other people and when you don't buy into it they say 'you're not willing to learn' or whatever. What they're really angry about is that you won't go with what they want. Peronsally, I'm not interested in going with what someone else wants, simply because they think I should. I'm interested in doing what I want. *shrugs*

People have made up their minds most of the time, which is why trying to force them to beleive otherwise is pointless and a waste of time. Also, I don't get why it's so important, a mission, for some people in the first place. Who cares?

Its human behavior. When you are happy at that time don't promise any thing and when you r sad then don't commit any thing because you are not going to follow .

I think it's easy to wrap our identity around our beliefs. They become our "core" and "foundation." And make us feel secure...But we can really hold ourselves back from growing and evolving if we cling to our existing beliefs for "dear life" and "block" new ideas and new information from "coming in."

Definitely, people who are defined by 'where they stand'...we are all intelligent beings gifted with the power of reason, so we should be totally open to anything even if it makes us uncomfortable. To say it's hard to do is an understatement.

I think its just human nature. It holds people back. I think everyone could benefit from being more flexible in their thinking and convictions.

I don't think it's "human nature" Wembley...but I do agree that it does hold people back (their loss)...and I also agree it would be a benefit to ourselves and society if we could ALL be more flexible in our thinking and convictions...I believe people who are more receptive to hearing different ideals and points of views (even if they don't agree with them) will find more satisfaction in their lives,. without a doubt we do not all think and believe the same, and I think it's good to know how/what others think.
