Has it ever occurred to you to put someone elses preference ahead of your own and let her
call & text the way that she prefers..

Unless the world revolves around you , her preferences matter & even moreso because
you should respect her age & that she is your mother..

I mean if I was just with you last night then why do I need to talk to you today? I really want to have a separate number for her to call so i can have my regular number for everyone else. I'm already in a irritated mood because so far today I received two text messages and both were from her.

So i decided to put her on call block the rest of the day because I don't want any more texts from her the rest of the day or do I have any interest in talking on the phone.

Who needs to talk to their mother every damm day of the week?

think about how many times your mom would like to have put you on BLOCK when you were a crying infant, a terrible two year old, when you were sick, bratty ---then came the teen years.
Just cut her some slack. Have a sense of humor about it and enjoy her while you still can.

My question exactly until the OP posted/described it as "a sad text message".
Until then, this thread was kinda fun.
Now, I'm over it.

Some people do indeed (quite wrongfully) believe the world revolves around them. I like this opinion which fits this case very well:

" ... self centered people are always depressed, angry & confused. They believe they are always owed something."

Wow. Just wow!
She's not supposed to tell you when someone you know dies? That is beyond self-centered. That is positively twisted. You might want to seek professional help. I think you are way beyond the limits of what strangers on the Internet could possibly help you with.
