Yep, I AM a Firehorse and totally identify with being a firehorse! It is my sign under the Chinese Zodiac (which goes by your birth year). I have all the traits of the horse...but they are even more intensified as my birth year was also a fire year. Fire years only occur every 60 years so I am a very rare breed. 1906, 1966 and next in 2026!

GREAT thread!

My username came about because I always thought life would be easier if I could completely turn into one of those people that has no expectations of good to come out of obviously screwed up situations. There definitely is a part of me that knows immediately that things are NOT going to end well, but then there is that other part of me that is exactly the type of person that annoys me to know end: The “Everything Will Be Fine” person. She is the one that poisons my mind with such dribble as:

“No one will even notice”
“I am SURE he will call again”
“Of course they like you”
“You will have no problem finding a job”
“No one is going to be that dressed up”
“It will stretch out”

Unfortunately despite life lessons, I always end up hopeful that things will turn out just fine. When I joined I was hopeful that things would work out OK in spite of my my dad being diagnosed with stage 3 bone cancer and a precarious job with a very sweet, but very ditzy boss. I was hopeful, but NOT HAPPY about it thus BitterlyHopeful.

My dad was with us for another 7 years (for which I am extremely grateful). I loved working for that sweet, ditzy lady right up until that payday that she called to say, “Uh, I don’t have any money to pay you.” Sigh…...

I chose mine because I own two real life Scooby Doos and I spend much of my money purchasing snacks for my monsters

Growing up, I was fairly shy with anyone outside of family. But with family, I could be very sassy. Now, I'm not so shy, but still pretty sassy.

And I like the blues. There you go.

I chose my username because I can identify with the mythology of the phoenix (i.e., literally or metaphorically being obliterated and annihilated, only to then rise up again from the ashes and be restored anew), and because 2017 was a major milestone year for me.

My user name is one of my favorite lines from Shakespeare ("A Midsummer Night's Dream"). My all-time favorite line from Shakespeare ("I do smell all horse-*****, at which my nose is in great indignation." -- "The Tempest") is too long to be a user name.

When my daughter was little, I told her she had to say, "Thank you Mommy who I love and adore and who is the Mighty Queen." She would get really mad and shout, "You are not a queen! You're just a regular mother! You don't have a crown." (After which I would mumble, that's because Daddy pawned it to pay his bookie.")

When she hit around 12 or 13, she would say, "Mommy who I love and adore and who is the Mighty Queen, can you drive us to the mall?"

I originally used the name on the old AOL message boards, and ended up being stalked by some religious nut who told me that God had revealed to her that I was a homosexual male and she was there to warn me about the dangerous state of my eternal soul.
