Not much unless it’s blatant and even then it’s a tiny facet of a persons state of mind at the time they made a user name and really not a way to determine personality.
I'm pretty boring, my first initial spelled out, and a number that has personal significance. People assume my name is Emma, which I don't mind because I think it's a lovely name.
Other names I have in other forums include a character on an old and obscure TV show I liked, and one that is [something]Mom, based on a nickname my kiddo had. For instance, CheeriosMom, where Cheerio was just my kid's nickname but had nothing to with the cereal. But of course people constantly asked me about [the cereal] so I had to stop using that name.
Mine is how I entered the world. I was the first baby born on 6-20-1957 in Fargo, ND, the day of the Fargo Tornado, on which the F rating system for tornadoes was based. A totally random accident, but explains my resilience to life's challenges.
My current user name is two slang terms for redheads (a shout out to my strawberry blonde hair). Reclaiming pejoratives, one post at a time.
My former user name was unintentionally ironic: it was supposed to be MS.Mathlete because I had just downloaded Microsoft Math and having a craptacular time trying to get the hang of the graphing calculator. I was so busy telling it to get off my lawn that accidentally didn’t capitalize the S.
My father taught me the game of chess when I was much younger. Believe I was 8 or 9 years old. I enjoyed playing it occasionally and still do. Became a pretty good player and was able to usually beat him and my friends a few years later. Nowhere near the grandmaster, tournament level, though. I added "geek" to the word "chess" just for fun.
